TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

Day 1:   Kochi - Welcome to Kochi. Arrive anytime.
Day 2:  Kochi - Tour of Fort Kochi & Kathakali dance
Day 3: Thekkady - Visit the popular hill station and wildlife center. Trekking and game viewing.
Days 4-5: Munnar - Nature lover’s paradise. Beautiful landscapes, stunning views and tea  plantations.
Day 6: Alleppey (Houseboat) - Float in sheer bliss as Kerala's traditional kettuvalloms or houseboats with modern amenities. Enjoy the greenery, scenes of the villages, toddy tapping and life on either sides of the banks of the backwaters! 
Days 7-8: Kumakarom - Enjoy the rural sights with its majestic canals, marine life, rich flora and fauna. This beautiful little scenic village is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
 

TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 01: ARRIVE KOCHI (COCHIN): WELCOME TO KOCHI!   Upon arrival at Kochi airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight - Kochi.

DAY 02: KOCHI:: This morning we will leave for a guided sightseeing tour of Kochi– an important port city with a famous Jewish settlement and Synagogue, the Dutch Palace, the Chinese Nets, the Church of St Francis and the Tomb of Vasco da Gama. Evening watch a vibrant Kathakali dance drama performance. Overnight – Kochi.

DAY 03: KOCHI /THEKKADY: Today we will proceed to Thekkady, located in central Kerala, is a popular hill station and a wildlife centre. This town, which is an important plantation centre, conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spice scented plantations. Periyar Forest of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves of India and spread across the entire district are picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold immense opportunities for treks and mountain walks. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary offers a fairly good chance of seeing the great Indian tiger in its natural habitat. In the afternoon, take a game viewing boat-ride on the Periyar Lake.  Amongst the animals spotted here are wild elephants, which can be seen and photographed at close quarters, wild boar, sambar, tier, leopard, and wild dog and languor monkeys. Overnight - Thekkady.

DAY 04: THEKKADY/MUNNAR: Morning after breakfast, we will depart for Munnar en route visiting a Spice Plantation and upon arrival check-in at your resort.

 

DAY 05: MUNNAR: Breakfast is at the hotel.  Day free to explore this hill station and take a nature walk to see the beautiful landscape, tea and other plantations and the lakes around. Overnight – Munnar.y you are ever likely to have to see the tea plantations, to watch tea being picked, to learn how tea is processed, to smell the sweet scent of tea wafting through the air and to buy the tea directly from the gardens. Overnight – Munnar.

DAY 06: MUNNAR/ALLEPPEY (HOUSEBOAT) : We depart for Alleppey to board a Houseboat stationed on the backwaters of Kerala, the Vembanad Lake. The Houseboat will cruise you through the small canal with natural beauty, paddy fields, and coconut groves and with a glimpse of the village life - at close quarters which is a unique and unforgettable experience. The Houseboat would have an air-conditioned bath attached bed room with a sit out and a kitchenette, where the chef will cook and serve your lunch, dinner and breakfast – Kerala style! Overnight - on board the Houseboat.

DAY 07: KUMARAKOM: Morning after breakfast, disembark from the Houseboat at your Resort in Kumarakom.

Kumarakom an unbelievably beautiful paradise of mangrove forests, emerald green paddy fields, and coconut groves interspersed with enchanting waterways and canals adorned with white lilies. Situated on the VembanadLake, in this small water world, you will come across plenty of traditional country crafts, boats and canoes. Kumarakom has also a Bird Sanctuary, which is ornithologist’s paradise, with favorite haunt of migratory birds like the Siberian stork, egret, darter, heron and teal.  Other common varieties like woodpecker, skylark, crane, water hen and parrots can also be spotted here.

Evening take an Optional sunset Cruise – there can be few better ways to adjust to the pace of backwater life than to spend the waning hours of the afternoon just watching the sun go down.  Overnight – Kumarakom.

DAY 08: KUMARAKOM: Day at leisure. Relax and enjoy the resort or get an Ayurveda rejuvenation massage at the resort’s Ayurveda centre.  Kerala is the originating place for Ayurveda, which is the ultimate natural way of treating and rejuvenating soul and body.  There are also professional yoga teachers where you can practice yoga under their guidance.  Overnight – Kumarakom

DAY 09: KUMARAKOM / KOCHI: Morning at leisure to enjoy the resort.Later departure transfer to Kochi airport for your flight to your next destination with fond memories.
