TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 01: DEPART USA: Take an international flight from your hometown to Naples, Italy. Your airline will serve you meals, beverages and snacks along with onboard entertainment.
DAY 02: NAPLES/AMALFI COAST: Arrival in Naples/Capodichino Airport. You will be met by your tour leader, who will assist with your transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Enjoy your time today either with a quick rest or to begin your exploration of the beautiful Amalfi Coast. Later this afternoon, meet your tour leader for a welcome cocktail and orientation. Welcome dinner this evening at your hotel.
DAY 03: AMALFI COAST — AMALFI/RAVELLO: After breakfast, meet your tour leader for your full day excursion of the Amalfi Coast. Join your tour leader for a guided visit of “divine coast”. The Amalfi Coast or CostieraAmalfitanais a stretch of coastline on the southern side of the Sorrentine Peninsula extending from Positano in the west to Vietrisul Mare in the east. You will visit Ravello – the dramatic hillside town, famous for its Villa Rufolo. Continue to Amalfi and its historical center, you may want to visit Saint Andrea Cathedral and the Cloister of Paradise. Dinner this evening at your hotel.
DAY 04 : AMALFI COAST: Breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast, enjoy a local “limoncello” session to learn about the tradition and secrets behind the limoncello production. Sample this delicious liquor, which has become a popular after dinner drink – both in Italy and around the world. You may like to walk through the picturesque town of Minori, perhaps meet some of the locals and enjoy a delicious meal in one of the local restaurants. Dinner this evening at your hotel. After dinner, learn the art of Italian Pasta making by a “Master Pastaio” – go home a gourmet cook!
DAY 05: AMALFI COAST: Breakfast at your hotel. The Amalfi Coast is famous for their colorful pottery/ceramics. Today you will have the opportunity to visit one of the local factories and see the fine art ceramics. Dinner this evening at your hotel. Late night pizza making demonstration and tasting.
DAY 06: AMALFI COAST / CAPRI: After breakfast, meet your tour leader for full day guided excursion to Capri. Arrival at the pier, board your hydrofoil for your trip to the island of Capri, an enchanted island on the south side of the Gulf of Naples — celebrated for its natural beauty — since the time of the Roman Republic. Upon arrival, experience the “funicolare” and a walking tour of the historical city center.
You will have an opportunity to visit the Gardens of Augustus, a retreat into a natural paradise, with a splendid view of the “Faraglioni” — nature’s rock guardians of Capri. You will have free time to explore this scenic wonderland, walk through the characteristic streets, shop in the fine boutiques, or just enjoy an espresso and pastry. Dinner this evening at your hotel.After dinner tasting of local Limoncello.
DAY 07: AMALFI COAST: Breakfast at your hotel and day at leisure. Dinner this evening at your hotel. After dinner: What is a BABA’? Come and find out and try this delicious treat!!!
DAY 08: AMALFI COAST: After breakfast at your hotel, meet your Tour Leader for full day excursion to Sorrento and Positano. You will proceed to Sorrento, full of fashionable shops and characteristic artisan shops selling local products and wares. The wonderful climate attracted Roman noblemen back in ancient times. They came to Sorrento and built magnificent villas.
Today Sorrento is a rich and elegant city, full of world class hotels and restaurants. Stroll through the streets and “piazzetta” of Sorrento, lined with orange and lime trees. Try the local pastries and “espresso Napoletano”, or perhaps sample one of the many flavors of gelato. According to the local legend, Positano was founded by a group from Paestum who fled there to avoid the attacks of the Saracens. Positano is located in one of the most beautiful valleys of the Amalfi peninsula. At the center of town you can see the brightly colored “maiolica” dome of Santa Maria Assunta, the main church of Positano. Farewell dinner this evening. Enjoy music and entertainment as you enjoy your last night in the beautiful Amalfi Coast.
